Having become tired of seeing more and more web sites that are almost nothing but clutter and in general show little consideration for visual excellence, we decided to give an award to those sites that in our opinion are artistically well designed.
We take into consideration such things as color selection, the size and placement of objects, how well the images relate to the purpose of the site, and in general a sense of whether or not the site presents a visually pleasant personality. In general, banner ads are NOT artistic.
Who are we to presume to decide such things? Well, after all, art is our business and our own artworks have won many, many, many awards. There may be some people who disagree with us but that is to be expected, and it's okay, because in the end the evaluation of art is a totally subjective decision. Hopefully the Just A Touch award for excellence in web site artistic design will be an incentive for improvement for those sites who need it.
